About the facility
Kifune Shrine enshrines the God of Water, the source of all life, and is the head shrine of 2,000 water god shrines across Japan. Known as the place of origin for wish-making wooden plaques known as "ema," the shrine is one of the best known in Kyoto, with an impressive approach lined with countless red lanterns.
