About the facility
Kamigamo Shrine is the nickname for Kamo Wakeikazuchi Jinja Shrine (it has a second nickname: Kamiyashiro). The shrine is dedicated to deity Kamo Wakeikazuchi no Okami. Its huge premises, including two national treasure buildings and 41 important cultural property buildings, have entirely been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
