About the facility
Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine of some 30,000 Inari shrines throughout Japan, also known by people of all generations as "O-inari-san."
The place to worship Inari is Mt. Inari.
Its deity Inari Okami was enshrined in the mountain on the first Day of the Horse of the second month of 711, during the Nara period. The shrine celebrated its 1,300th anniversary of its enshrinement in 2011.
