About the facility
Expo '70 Commemorative Park is a cultural park built on the land where Japan
Expo (Osaka
Expo) was held in 1970.
It gives visitors a chance to enjoy nature not far from downtown
Osaka, with
flowers blossoming every season in the huge 260-ha park. It is also a place for various
events.
The
park is home to "The Tower of the Sun" built by artist Taro Okamoto, as well as "EXPO '70
Pavilion," a
commemorative museum to remember the Osaka Expo, showcasing the atmosphere and energy of the
expo in the
70s.
