About the facility
Sakai is home to the Mozu burial mounds, including the Tumulus of Emperor
Nintoku, as well
as historic shrines and temples, old townscapes, sites associated with famous historic
figures,
traditional industries, and other countless historical and cultural resources nurtured over
Sakai's long
history.
”Sakai Plaza of Rikyu and Akiko" is a museum to know more about Sen no Rikyu,
Sakai in the
Azuchi Momoyama era, and Akiko Yosano and Sakai in the Meiji Taisho era, and to get
acquainted with
Sakai's history and culture.
