Imashirozuka burial mound, Imashiro Daio-no-mori Imashirozuka History Museum, and Shinike Haniwa Factory Park
About the facility
The gigantic Imashirozuka burial mound is Japan's only ancient burial mound of a king that allows visitors to enter. The adjacent Imashirozuka History Museum, which also has free admission, displays a dramatic array of real haniwas (clay figurines), including Japan's largest haniwa house, as well as three replicas of stone coffins.
Niike Haniwa Factory Park is the largest and oldest replica of Japan's Haniwa production studio, where visitors can enjoy learning about the burial mound era and how haniwas were made through clay cartoon plates and haniwa replicas.
