Koyasan Reihokan

Koyasan with a proud history dating back over 1,200 years retains many cultural treasures, as befitting its long history. Koyasan Reihokan Museum manages and exhibits valuable cultural properties that Koyasan has inherited, and the number of national treasures and important cultural properties in its collection, mainly Buddhist statues, paintings and Esoteric Buddhist art, amount to over 70,000. These pieces are sequentially shown to the public in special and feature exhibitions to introduce the history and allure of Koyasan.
