Built in hopes of protecting Heijokyo and for the glory of the people. “Kasuga Wakamiya On Matsuri” festival is held for four days from December 15th each year, in which a procession dressed in period costumes, just as they are seen in historical scroll paintings, parade the city (on the 17th only).
